The Key to Your Financial Closet
It’s our last week of cleaning our financial closets!
In previous weeks we have cleaned up our spending and saving (Week 1), organized our financial wardrobe by personalizing our investments (Week 2) and made sure we can pass on those precious keepsake items through estate and insurance planning (Week 3).
So when you turn the key and open your financial closet, do you feel a sense of calm? I hope so.
But, someone else needs to have a copy of that key as well… should something happen to you. Just in case. A trusted contact or loved one needs to be able to step in if you are unable, turn the key and open the closet, understand your financial situation, perhaps even manage your healthcare, and make needed decisions.
That key to your financial closet is:
- a list of contacts (family, friends, medical, emergency, professional)
- health and insurance information
- a guide to locating important records and documents
- a list of passwords for online accounts
The good news is that we have created that key for you - it’s our Just in Case guide. Please feel free to download it, fill it out, and importantly, share a copy with your trusted contact. A spare key is of no use if no one knows where it is…
Congratulations, you have cleaned your financial closet! Don’t forget, every now and then, get back in there and tidy up. But for now, enjoy that “financial zen.”
